This is a full-time, on-site Carer role based in Chichester.
The Carer will support individuals in their own homes with daily living activities such as personal care, medication prompts, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and mobility assistance.
The role includes providing companionship, encouraging social engagement, and monitoring changes in clients’ wellbeing.
The Carer will follow care plans, maintain accurate records, communicate clearly with clients, families, and colleagues, and expedite concerns when needed.
Flexibility to work shifts, including some evenings and weekends, and to travel locally between client homes is required.
Qualifications
- Ability to provide high-quality personal care, including support with washing, dressing, toileting, and mobility, while maintaining dignity and respect.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with clients, families, and colleagues, and to document care accurately.
- Reliability, time-management, and the capacity to work independently in clients’ homes while following agreed care plans.
- Empathy, patience, and a calm approach when supporting individuals with complex needs, including dementia and other long-term conditions.
- Basic household and practical skills, such as preparing meals, assisting with shopping, and maintaining a safe home environment.
- Willingness to complete or hold relevant care certifications (e. g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care or equivalent) and participate in ongoing training.
- Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries within home care settings.
- Ability to travel locally in Chichester and surrounding areas; a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are beneficial but not mandatory.
