Salary: $37.00 hourly / 35 to 40 hours per week

Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Install gas heating units and their components
  • Measure and mark reference points for installation of gas lines and equipment
  • Service gas heating units and their components
  • Install and maintain meters and regulators and gas lines between gas unit and gas meter
  • Advise clients regarding standards, safety features and maintenance of gas units and systems
  • Study drawings and specifications to determine the layout of the installation and materials required
  • Test and adjust control mechanisms and check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices
  • Test and replace defective equipment or components
  • Keep record of work performed and location and condition of equipment

Credentials:

  • Gas Fitter Certificate - Level 2 or B
  • Gas Fitter Certificate - Level 3 or C

Transportation / travel information:

  • Valid driver's licence
  • Own transportation

Work conditions and physical capabilities:

  • Physically demanding
  • Standing for extended periods
