In the role of Network Security Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, documenting and managing technical collateral to support agreed strategic objectives and the development of standard offerings and blueprint solutions in the security area. You will guard the overall solution architecture of customer designs and be involved in the implementation, testing and handover to operations of these solutions. The Network Security Design Engineer will actively participate in the presales process as well to allow continuity through service fulfilment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design bespoke customer network security models, review and approve advanced (best practices and standards) security configuration and be personally involved in first deployments of the solution as well as in proof of concepts.
  • Be engaged in the pre-sales process, supporting the sales engineer with positioning the right security posture to the customer.
  • Monitor industry networking security updates, technologies and best practices to improve overall security management and to remain informed of new technical developments and trends in the industry.
  • Liaise with Partners/Vendors to fulfil agreed customer expectations.
  • Produce and endorse technical standards, reference architecture, deployment guides and technology roadmaps in close collaboration with product management.
  • Create technical documentation, update standards and guidelines.
  • You will be allocated to 1 or more existing customer accounts to support the customer after and during the delivery.
  • The customer will see you as “the subject matter expert” for technical advice and consultancy on any security topic.
  • Occasionally work at customer premises.

This is a flexible role within a team of highly skilled architects covering a broad range of technologies including LAN/WAN, Voice, Network & Information Security, Internet Services and UC Services.

Required Experience/Qualifications:
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in the network security industry.
  • Develop design solutions (physical and logical) that follow engineering best practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Fortinet, Palo Alto security design concepts, implementation and support.
  • Demonstrable experience of working autonomously in a multi-vendor enterprise scale environment.
  • Working knowledge and/or general understanding of technology methodologies such as ITIL V3.
  • Act as a security expert, within the Managed Services Team for Service Delivery, Engineering, Operations, Product and Project Management.
  • Offensive or Defensive hacking knowledge is a plus.
  • Knowledge and working experience in Fortinet, Palo Alto security design concepts, implementation and support.
  • SASE and SSE environments and concepts.
  • Multi-platform design, implementation and support experience.
  • Working experience with SD-WAN technologies (Aruba Edgeconnect, VMWare Velocloud, Forti Secure SD-WAN).
  • Security Architecture and design multi-platform solutions for managed security service clients.
  • Technical lead during project planning, management and implementation of client solutions (Pilot & POC deployments).
  • Participate in project calls with clients to review and capture low level design requirements, best practices and consultancy in terms of security posture.
  • Creation of security posture standards for end-clients and regular review to keep them up to date.
  • Demonstrable experience of turning business requirements into architectural building blocks.
  • Assist in the identification and resolution of security related issues during project deployment.
  • Demonstrable awareness of the financial impact of strategic / operational decisions and the ability to identify opportunity for cost reductions.
  • Experience of working on major international and global accounts.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Hours/Travel/Shift:

Standard Working Hours, Monday to Friday. Remote working, with some travel for team/customer meetings.
