Role Summary: The Access Network Project Manager is responsible for the management and planning of GTT’s global access network comprising of more than 1500 network interconnections with GTT last mile suppliers. The Access Network Project Manager manages the capacity of the access network to ensure that customer connections can be fulfilled on the network whilst minimizing costs. He/she participates in the restructuration of the network due to acquisition, technology upgrade and cost savings. He/she is the subject matter expert for the access network and supports the Sales and Service Delivery teams from quote to delivery.
Job Scope/Supervision: The Access Network Project Manager reports to the Access Planning manager. It interacts often with third party suppliers, network engineering, supplier management, sales support, and service delivery teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Network capacity management and reporting: capacity and traffic
- Proactively/reactively order additional capacity
- Interacts and negotiates with network suppliers
- Proactively identifies network cost savings opportunities
- Manages and/or supports network restructuration and service migrations
- Responds to Sales and Service Delivery queries related to network capacity
Required Experience/Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a telecommunications environment.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications technologies and products.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
- Conversational-level English (written and verbal).
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage a heavy workload and meet deadlines.
- Professional, articulate, and effective communicator with confidence in liaising internally and externally.
- Experience in vendor management and/or Order management preferred.
Hours/Travel/Shift: Standard working hours Monday to Friday.
