GTS Transport Services have over 30 years experience in the transport industry offering a first class service to a wide range of industries. We specialise in the transport of full and part loads Ireland-GB using our extensive fleet of modern tractor units and trailers. Due to continued growth we are seeking to recruit a Traffic Planner, based at our Ballyclare Office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage transport operations to achieve maximum utilisation whilst minimising costs and ensuring customer needs are met
- Plan, schedule and optimise daily routes across the UK and Ireland in line with operational and legal compliance requirements
- Actively communicate with drivers and colleagues to ensure timely collections and deliveries
- Monitor customer requests, allocate jobs, and issue instructions
- Troubleshoot transport-related issues in real-time
- Co-ordinate subcontractors effectively and efficiently based on business needs
- Liaise with customers to manage their business needs to ensure smooth running of transport operations
- Other ad hoc duties
Requirements:
- Previous experience in Transport Planning and General Haulage
- Working knowledge of the UK & Ireland
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Can do attitude with the ability to think independently
- Exceptional attention to detail with excellent administrative abilities
- Able to work well independently and as part of a team
- Flexible and adaptable in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent time management and workload prioritisation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Calm, practical and organised approach
