Are you an innovative digital hardware design engineer looking to take ownership of projects from concept through to production? We’re looking for a talented Senior Digital Hardware FPGA Engineer to join one of the UK's fastest growing engineering teams, developing cutting-edge solutions for space and satellite systems.
The Role
You’ll work closely with colleagues across Engineering and Production to design, develop, and maintain digital tools, circuits, and embedded control systems. This is a hands-on, full-lifecycle role — from concept and design to testing, validation, and production support.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to hardware and firmware development projects.
- Design and implement embedded control modules, digital circuits, and FPGA/CPLD logic.
- Develop firmware in C/C++ and HDL (VHDL/Verilog) for embedded applications.
- Test and verify firmware and hardware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, network and spectrum analyzers, and other diagnostic tools.
- Drive continuous improvement across engineering and production environments.

You’re a technically strong, detail-oriented engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and seeing designs come to life. You combine practical design experience with a collaborative mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Essential Skills:
- Strong background in digital hardware and embedded systems design.
- Experience with programmable logic (FPGA/CPLD) and microcontrollers.
- Proficiency in VHDL/Verilog and Embedded C/C++.
- Familiarity with interfaces such as USB, Ethernet, RS-485, and LVDS.
- Comfortable using test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, analyzers, etc.).
- Proven ability to work across the full development lifecycle.
