The role is based in West Sussex but on a hybrid basis (1 day a week on site). Not a maintenance role. Not a drawings-only role. This is for the engineer people go to when the problem doesn’t have a clear answer yet. A specialist manufacturer in a safety-critical sector is looking for a hands-on Product/Project Engineer to turn customer requirements into real, manufacturable solutions - from concept through prototype to production.

What you’ll do:

  • Translate customer problems into engineered solutions
  • Design assemblies, cabling and product variants
  • Own CAD, drawings and technical documentation
  • Support prototyping, testing and approvals
  • Advise on power, wiring and component selection
  • Work directly with customers, suppliers and production

What you’ll bring:

  • Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronic engineering background
  • Knowledge within Power Supplies / Charging Technologies
  • Experience delivering physical products into production
  • CAD competence + understanding of schematics/power systems
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects independently
  • Able to communicate confidently with stakeholders
  • Those working within Autonomous Vehicles/ Automotive/ Rail would be desirable!
  • Curious, practical engineers tend to do well here.
  • Occasional international travel.
