Are you an experienced Auto Electrician, Vehicle Installation Engineer, Telematics Engineer or Mobile Engineer looking to work with cutting-edge vehicle technology? GTS Group are recruiting for a Field Engineer to join a rapidly growing business delivering innovative telematics, CCTV and vehicle safety solutions across HGV, LCV, Bus & Coach fleets throughout the Reading region. The Role
As a Field Engineer, you'll be responsible for installing, maintaining and troubleshooting a wide range of vehicle technologies at customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Install telematics and tracking systems on HGVs, vans, buses, coaches and specialist vehicles.
- Carry out electrical installations on both 12V and 24V vehicle systems.
- Install and configure CANbus systems including J1939, J1708, FMS and CANcliq.
- Install dashcams and multi-channel vehicle CCTV systems (up to 12 cameras).
- Install vehicle safety technologies including DVS systems, Side Scan and side sensors, AI cameras, ADAS systems, Alcolock and Breathalock solutions.
- Install temperature monitoring systems and telemetry solutions.
- Fit in-cab technology including tablets, driver terminals, cradles and RAM mounts.
- Complete remote tacho download integrations.
- Install Suzi connections, inverters, lightbars, beacons and auxiliary power solutions.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical and vehicle technology faults in the field.
What We're Looking For
- Experience as an Auto Electrician, Telematics Engineer, Vehicle Installation Engineer, Mobile Engineer or Field Service Engineer.
- Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, including 12V and 24V installations.
- Experience with vehicle tracking, telematics, CCTV or safety systems.
- Knowledge of CANbus systems including J1939, J1708 and FMS.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
