GTS Transportation is recruiting on behalf of a key infrastructure client for an experienced Site/Section Engineer with a strong background in earthworks. The role is critical to the delivery of essential works, and the client is keen to secure a replacement quickly to allow for a comprehensive handover.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a project where the earthworks packages are being self-delivered, making previous experience in this type of delivery model highly valuable.

  • Proven experience in earthworks
  • Previous experience in self-delivered packages
  • Ability to start by late August to support handover
  • Strong technical knowledge of setting out, QA, and on-site coordination

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take off quantities to support material orders and planned works progression
  • Produce ITPs and conduct daily quality inspections in line with specifications
  • Liaise with foremen and works managers to coordinate on-site activities
  • Work with utilities, H&S, and environmental teams to ensure permits and documentation are in place
  • Coordinate with testing labs and respond to results appropriately
  • Manage and interpret surveying data, including as-builts
  • Execute setting out and surveys efficiently to maintain construction timelines
  • Monitor and report production outputs to the wider project team
  • Regularly review procedures for efficiency improvements
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies and management plans
  • Cross-reference section programme against short-term planning to ensure alignment
