We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join the night shift Quality team at a Formula 1 operation in Silverstone, Motorsport Valley. You will work independently inspecting and verifying precision-machined metallic components and assemblies, ensuring they meet the highest F1 quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect internally and externally manufactured machined components
- Perform dimensional inspection using CMMs, Absolute Arms, shadowgraphs, contour tracers, and hand tools
- Use software such as PC-DMIS and PolyWorks
- Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings
- Record inspection results and support continuous quality improvements
- Collaborate closely with QA, Production, and Machine Shop teams
Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of machining processes and manufacturing methods
- Hands-on experience with CMMs and advanced metrology equipment
- Proficiency in PC-DMIS and/or PolyWorks
- Able to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, IFS, or similar)
- Background in Formula 1 or high-level motorsport highly desirable
- Comfortable working night shifts in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
