Senior / Principal Electronics Design Engineer - Own the Project, Not Just the Circuit
A well-established UK electronics design house, part of a larger European manufacturing group, is expanding its engineering team.
The work spans Automotive, Defence & Aerospace, Medical, Space and more, and no two projects look the same.
This one's for an engineer who wants the whole project, not just the schematic.
You'll take a client's requirement, shape it, design a chunk of it yourself, and direct the rest of the team so it lands on time.
What you'll be doing
- Owning design projects end to end - enquiry through to production handover
- Working directly with clients to turn vague requirements into a clear spec
- Breaking down the work, estimating effort, pulling in the right resource
- Directing electronics and PCB layout engineers on your projects
- Hands‑on hardware design, bring‑up, test and fault finding
- Managing scope, risk and client expectations like a grown‑up
What you'll bring
- Extensive electronics hardware design experience, concept to production
- Track record of owning projects, not just contributing to them
- Confidence directing other engineers' work, formally or otherwise
- Mixed analogue/digital design with microcontrollers
- Altium and/or Cadence schematic capture
- Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC)
Based within reach of Bedfordshire - hybrid( large amount of remote working!).
Unfortunately due to the nature of the work they are unable to offer sponsorship or consider those on a visa currently.
Sound like your kind of ownership?
