Senior Buyer – Strategic Procurement Role at GTS Transportation

GTS Transportation is seeking a dynamic Senior Buyer to play a key role in shaping the future of our clients global supply chain.

As a Senior Buyer, you'll take ownership of sourcing strategies across both domestic and international operations. Your focus will be on improving supply chain efficiency, optimising supplier performance, and ensuring compliance with trade regulations worldwide. What You'll Be Doing:

  • Taking charge of end-to-end supply chain activity in the UK and overseas
  • Ensuring full compliance with import/export legislation, including HMRC and international trade rules
  • Designing procurement systems that support structured reporting and data-driven decisions
  • Streamlining supplier networks and leading group purchasing initiatives
  • Managing complex supplier contracts and identifying opportunities for cost reduction
  • Partnering with project teams to support procurement across large-scale engineering programs

What You Bring:

  • A degree or professional qualification in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or similar
  • Significant experience in procurement, particularly within power generation, rotating equipment, or heavy engineering sectors
  • A strong grasp of contractual frameworks such as FIDIC and NEC3/NEC4
  • Proven ability to negotiate capital equipment contracts and secure value-driven supply agreements
  • A strategic mindset, with a track record of supplier management and delivering measurable savings
