Few engineering jobs have a direct line between your work and an aircrew member walking away from a bad day. This one does.
You’ll be the person customers and field engineers call when something needs answering properly: what failed, why, and what happens next.
What you’ll be doing
- Acting as technical liaison for customers worldwide, handling enquiries and keeping them updated through to resolution
- Supporting Field Service Engineers with technical advice and investigation support
- Investigating in-service defects, documenting findings, identifying root cause and overseeing corrective actions
- Working with the Design Office to specify ground support equipment, test equipment and tooling used for maintenance and operational checks
- Writing formal technical communications, including service information and technical information letters
- Occasional travel within the UK and overseas to support customers
What you’ll bring
- HNC/HND (or above) in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or extensive hands‑on experience supporting aerospace or defence equipment in service
- A solid grasp of product support practice: in‑service failures, defect investigation, corrective action
- Clear, confident written English. You’ll be producing documents customers act on
- Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills
- Good Excel and MS Office skills; SharePoint experience is useful
- Understanding of QA and manufacturing processes is a plus
Good to know
- No security clearance required
- The role involves work subject to explosives regulations, so relevant compliance checks apply
- Office‑based role, reporting to the Product Support Manager
