GTS Group are partnering with one of the world’s leading Formula One teams to recruit an experienced CMM Inspector / Mechanical Inspector for a 6-month fixed-term contract within their elite Quality Assurance department. The Role
As a CMM Inspector, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and conformity of internally and externally manufactured components and assemblies used in high-performance Formula One applications. Working closely with Quality Assurance, Production Control, and Machine Shop teams, you’ll support continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining the extremely high standards demanded within motorsport and precision engineering environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and verify machined metallic components and assemblies
- Program and operate CMM equipment using PC-DMIS and PolyWorks
- Carry out dimensional inspection using advanced metrology equipment
- Interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T requirements
- Support production and quality teams with inspection activities
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and manufacturing specifications
- Maintain accurate inspection documentation and reports
- Contribute to continuous improvement and quality initiatives
- Work collaboratively across engineering and manufacturing departments
Skills & Experience Required
We are looking for candidates with experience in:
- CMM Inspection
- Mechanical Inspection
- Metrology
- Precision Engineering
- Motorsport Manufacturing
- Formula One / High-Performance Automotive
- Aerospace or Advanced Manufacturing
- Strong understanding of machining and manufacturing processes
- Experience with PC-DMIS and/or PolyWorks Metrology software
- Hands‑on use of: CMMs, Absolute Arms, Contour Tracers, Handheld measuring equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
- Understanding of GD&T principles
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems such as SAP or IFS
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work accurately under pressure
Highly Desirable
- Previous Formula One or elite motorsport experience
- Experience within high-precision machining environments
