About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join a leading manufacturing business and undertake a variety of processes for product verification of parts and components. Ensure that all inspection activities are delivered efficiently in accordance with the production schedule, MBA Standard Operating Procedures, and Health & Safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect mechanical components using various tools and techniques in line with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Generate, maintain, and update inspection records and reports.
- Use SAP to log work progress, track parts, and record non-conforming products.
- Ensure all inspection equipment is maintained and within calibration.
- Follow SOPs and quality procedures to ensure standards are met.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections on incoming, in-process, and final components.
- Identify, document, and communicate any quality issues or deviations.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances.
- Adhere to Health & Safety regulations, including COSHH and risk assessments.
- Participate in 5S activities and continuous improvement initiatives to drive quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve quality issues.
About You
- Experience in inspection within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Basic understanding of Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Aerospace background desirable.
- Skilled in using a range of inspection tools and hand tools.
- Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Familiarity with CMMs or equivalent measurement systems.
- Experience with visual and electronic/mechanical measuring aids.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and SAP.
- Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR).
