GTS Group are supporting an innovative engineering organisation developing advanced technologies for the automotive, electric vehicle, transportation and motorsport sectors. Their work focuses on delivering high-performance engineering solutions that improve efficiency, performance and sustainability. Due to continued growth, they're seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join their precision engineering and quality team.
The Role
As a Mechanical Inspector, you'll perform inspection activities on high-precision components using both manual metrology equipment and CMM inspection techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Program and operate Mitutoyo CMM equipment using M Cosmos software
- Inspect components against engineering drawings and GD&T requirements
- Conduct goods-in inspection activities
- Manage NCRs and liaise with subcontract suppliers
- Prepare documentation and shipments for subcontract processing
- Book stock into internal systems and maintain traceability records
- Use a range of metrology equipment including micrometers, height gauges and thread gauges
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality objectives
- Ensure compliance with ISO9001 standards and procedures

Essential Requirements:
- Strong manual inspection background
- Excellent understanding of GD&T
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience operating and programming CMM equipment
- Experience using metrology equipment and inspection tools
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Experience within precision engineering or advanced manufacturing environments
Desirable:
- Mitutoyo M Cosmos experience
- PC-DMIS experience
- ISO14001 knowledge
- Experience of anodising and electroplating processes
- Automotive, motorsport, aerospace or defence sector experience
