GTS Group are hiring an Engineering Manager to lead and develop our clients' national field engineering function, delivering cutting-edge vehicle CCTV, telematics and AI-powered safety systems across commercial fleets throughout the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager, Field Service Manager or Automotive Technical Leader looking to play a pivotal role within a high-growth technology business, driving engineering standards, service excellence and continuous improvement.

The Role – Engineering Manager
As Engineering Manager, you will take overall responsibility for engineering operations across the UK, ensuring installations and service delivery consistently meet the highest quality, safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and develop a team of field-based engineers across the UK
- Establish and monitor KPIs, productivity and service performance metrics
- Oversee resource planning, scheduling and engineering capacity
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and ISO standards
- Conduct quality audits and drive engineering best practice
- Provide technical leadership and support complex customer escalations
- Develop training programmes and maintain engineering competency matrices
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and enhance service delivery processes
- Partner with senior leadership to shape engineering strategy and support business growth
This is a hybrid leadership position requiring a balance of strategic thinking, operational oversight and regular engagement with engineers and customers across the UK.
What We're Looking For
- Proven hands-on experience managing field-based engineering teams
- Background in vehicle technology, automotive electrics, CCTV, telematics or similar technical environments
- Strong operational management and KPI-driven leadership experience
- Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience working within ISO-regulated environments (desirable)
- Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, hands-on leadership style with a passion for continuous improvement
