Now, they’re seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Lead Technical Author with team management experience to help drive the next phase of innovation across their documentation processes.
The Role
As the Technical Publications Manager / Lead Technical Author, you’ll be responsible for leading and mentoring a well-established team while also working hands-on to evolve documentation standards, tools, and delivery. With 80% of manuals already in place, your focus will be on problem-solving, streamlining workflows, and ensuring documentation meets the changing needs of global engineering teams and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of experienced technical writers, promoting innovation and efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to enhance documentation workflows.
- Drive improvements in content management strategies — experience with CMS tools such as Confluence, Paligo, XDocs, Author-it or similar is essential.
- Use your Microsoft Office expertise to optimise documentation production and workflows.
- Modernise legacy content and introduce scalable improvements to serve the business long-term.
