I’m currently recruiting for a Senior Production Engineer to join an established engineering business operating within the defence sector. This is a varied role covering NPI, manufacturing, test and continuous improvement. You’ll be working closely with the engineering and manufacturing teams to make sure new products can be moved into production efficiently, as well as improving existing processes.
The role will include:
- Taking new products from engineering into production
- Developing and improving manufacturing and test processes
- Proven experience in the electronics engineering field
- Creating work instructions, BOMs and manufacturing documentation
- Designing and improving jigs and fixtures
- Troubleshooting production and test issues
- Working with Engineering on DFM/DFT
- Improving quality, efficiency and production costs
- Working with suppliers and subcontract manufacturers
- Supporting and providing first-line supervision to the manufacturing team
They’re looking for someone with a Production/Manufacturing Engineering background, ideally with experience in an electronics manufacturing environment. NPI experience, Lean/Six Sigma and exposure to ERP systems would also be useful.
Location: Bedfordshire
Salary: £50,000–£55,000
