Are you an experienced compliance leader with a strong background in AML (Anti-Money Laundering) , regulatory risk , and financial crime prevention ?

Are you ready to step into a strategic leadership role where you can shape and scale compliance frameworks across a dynamic organisation?

GTS is partnering with a leading digital banking business to hire a Head of Compliance and AML. The person will be responsible for overseeing the compliance strategy, leading regulatory engagements, and ensuring the organisation remains fully aligned with FCA regulations , AML directives , and best-in-class governance practices .

• Key Responsibilities: Lead and develop the compliance and AML strategy , ensuring alignment with UK regulatory requirements (FCA, JMLSG, AMLD, etc.).
• Oversee all aspects of financial crime prevention , including AML, CTF, sanctions screening, KYC/EDD processes, and suspicious activity reporting.
• Act as SMF16/SMF17 (where applicable) , liaising directly with regulators and external bodies.
• Manage and grow the compliance function, providing leadership, mentoring, and strategic direction.
• Conduct risk assessments, internal audits, and compliance training programs.
• Own the compliance monitoring framework and drive continuous improvement.
• Stay ahead of regulatory developments, assess their impact, and implement necessary changes.
• What We\’re Looking For: Proven experience in a Head of Compliance , MLRO , or similar senior compliance role.
• Deep understanding of UK AML regulations , FCA requirements , and financial crime frameworks .
• Strong track record managing regulatory audits and submissions.
• Skilled in building scalable compliance functions within fast-paced environments.
