GTS Group are seeking a skilled and motivated Electronics Engineer to join a forward-thinking OEM specialising in EV charging technology. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development of cutting-edge products by designing schematics, laying out PCBs, and contributing to the full hardware development lifecycle. You’ll work closely with firmware and mechanical teams, ensuring high-quality, manufacturable electronic assemblies that meet industry standards and performance requirements. This role offers the chance to get hands-on with both design and validation, supporting next-generation EV infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and optimise electronic schematics for a variety of applications Create PCB layouts with a focus on signal integrity, power distribution, and manufacturability Select electronic components based on cost, availability, and performance Develop PCBA test rigs to validate functionality and reliability Collaborate with firmware and mechanical teams to integrate hardware and software effectively Participate in design reviews and assist with debugging and circuit-level troubleshooting Ensure designs meet industry compliance and best practice standards Document design work, test procedures, and any changes throughout the process Requirements: Degree-qualified in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field Hands-on experience in schematic design and PCB layout (Altium Designer, KiCad, Pulsonix) Experience building and implementing PCBA test rigs Strong understanding of power electronics, embedded systems, and signal integrity Familiarity with communication protocols: SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, RS485 Confident using test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analysers) Good understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFT (Design for Test) principles Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team Desirable: Experience with high-speed PCB design or RF considerations Familiarity with regulatory standards (CE, FCC, IPC, etc.) Knowledge of automated testing or scripting (Python, LabVIEW, etc.) Previous experience in electronics for industrial or automotive products Further information can be given upon request and subject to meeting suitability criteria.
