GTS have an exclusive opportunity to join an industry leader as their Environment Health Safety Lead, to take full ownership of a complex, high-risk industrial facility, based in South East England. This is a site-wide leadership role with genuine autonomy - accountable for safety, performance, people and delivery across production, maintenance and support functions. You’ll set the tone, drive standards, and lead from the front in a highly regulated environment.

The Role

You’ll be trusted to run the site. That means:

  • Full accountability for safe, compliant and reliable operations
  • Leading large, multi-disciplinary teams and building a strong performance culture
  • Owning process safety and asset integrity across the facility
  • Managing significant operating and capital budgets
  • Delivering projects, shutdowns and improvement programmes
  • Acting as the senior site interface with regulators and external stakeholders
  • Driving KPIs, operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Developing talent, strengthening capability and creating succession

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone comfortable making decisions, setting direction and holding high standards.

About You

You’re already operating at senior site level or ready to step up. You bring:

  • Proven leadership experience within major hazard, process manufacturing or similarly regulated environments
  • Strong working knowledge of COMAH / process safety / HSE frameworks
  • A track record of leading complex operations and diverse teams
  • Experience managing large budgets and driving operational performance
  • Exposure to capital projects, turnarounds or regulatory programmes
  • Engineering background (degree or equivalent experience)
  • NEBOSH or equivalent safety qualification
  • Gravitas to deal with regulators - and the presence to lead from the front

You’re commercially aware, safety-driven, and thrive in environments where expectations are high and ambiguity is part of the job.

Why Consider It?

  • True site ownership
  • High-impact leadership role
  • Complex, interesting operation
  • Visible position with influence across the wider business
  • Opportunity to shape culture, capability and performance
