We are seeking a proactive and experienced Rolling Stock Supervisor to lead maintenance operations and support the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-performing fleet services. Your Role
- Supervising maintenance activities, managing operational resources, and ensuring safe and efficient delivery of rolling stock maintenance operations.
- Planning and managing resources including people, materials, tools, and third-party services to meet operational and production requirements.
- Implementing production and maintenance plans to achieve business objectives while minimizing deferred work.
- Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with company standards, procedures, and relevant technical instructions.
- Optimizing shift coverage and resource allocation to reduce downtime and improve fleet availability and customer satisfaction.
- Understanding customer requirements, maintaining effective relationships, and ensuring operational plans remain aligned to customer expectations.
- Championing a culture of continuous improvement and encouraging team members to identify and implement operational enhancements.
- Promoting a strong health, safety, and environmental culture, ensuring compliance with all safe systems of work and supporting zero-harm objectives.
- Making operational decisions aligned with contractual deliverables, monitoring efficiency, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and performance improvement.
- Demonstrating strong leadership standards by fostering a high-performance, inclusive, and engaged team culture.
- Monitoring team and operational performance, providing coaching and feedback, and communicating business objectives effectively.
What You'll Bring
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a rolling stock, rail, or vehicle maintenance environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of rolling stock maintenance procedures and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and planning capabilities with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
- A sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements within an engineering or rail environment.
- Engineering ONC qualification (or equivalent experience/qualification).
