We’re looking for an experienced Heavy Maintenance Manager to lead the mobilisation and delivery of a major heavy overhaul programme launching soon. This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll shape the strategy 18–24 months ahead of first unit mileage requirements, building the overhaul package, managing risk, defining materials and tooling requirements, and leading mobilisation through to full delivery. If you thrive on complex programmes, stakeholder management, and driving structured, compliant delivery within rolling stock maintenance, this role is for you.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Leading mobilisation and commercial delivery of heavy overhaul projects
- Developing programme plans, KPI dashboards and governance controls
- Defining overhaul scope, optimisation strategy and lifecycle alignment
- Managing risk, concessions, condition assessments and long lead materials
- Overseeing logistics, unit allocation and supplier handover
- Establishing quality plans, audits, compliance and production metrics
- Managing customer interfaces and contract review meetings
- Building strong cross-functional relationships with engineering, planning and depot teams
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience delivering rolling stock heavy overhaul programmes
- Strong programme management and reporting capability
- Experience managing materials and complex supply chains
- Deep understanding of rail vehicle maintenance and depot operations
- Commercial awareness with strong stakeholder management skills
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and production efficiency techniques
- Confident leader who can operate in a safety-critical environment
