A major UK defence organisation is looking for a Senior Planner to own the Integrated Master Schedule across a portfolio of long-term, high-profile programmes. This is a role where your forecasts directly shape business decisions, and where good planning discipline is valued rather than treated as an afterthought.
You’ll work alongside the Task Manager and Project Controls team, keeping schedules accurate, running network and Earned Value analysis, and making sure programme and business teams have the information they need, when they need it.
What you’ll be doing
- Maintaining the Integrated Master Schedule and supporting the business rhythm across your projects
- Producing planning and EV deliverables, including schedule variance analysis (SPI)
- Delivering long-range integrated programme planning
- Reviewing project WBS and recommending changes to the Project Controls Manager
- Rolling out planning tools, EVMS, templates and training to internal teams
- Improving planning processes, policies and procedures
- Supporting peer reviews and emergent projects as needed
- Building strong relationships with key project stakeholders
What you’ll bring
- Solid experience as a Planner or Senior Planner on complex programmes
- Strong working knowledge of Earned Value Management
- Experience building and maintaining integrated schedules and network analysis
- Confidence presenting schedule data to project and business leadership
Long-term programmes of national importance, a stable organisation that invests in its people, and the chance to shape how planning is done rather than simply follow a process.
Security
Candidates must be British Citizens who have lived in the UK for the past five years (SC) or ten years (DV). Dual nationality may be considered for certain roles.
