Job Title: CNC Turner (x2 Positions Available)
Location:
Salary: Up to £41,000 per annum
Shifts: 5-day rotating shifts | Potential move to 4 on, 4 off
Join Our Precision Engineering Team
We’re looking to hire two skilled CNC Turners to join our dynamic engineering team, supporting the smooth operation of our specialist CNC turning machinery. You\’ll be working alongside a talented team, including experienced machinists and technicians, in a high-performance environment with in-house training and ongoing development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC Lathes (Fanuc-controlled) to specified tolerances.
- Interpret and apply pre-programmed code to match specific wheel profiles.
- React to machine faults, interpreting errors and performing corrective actions.
- Understand speeds, feeds, and finishes needed for different metals and applications.
- Work collaboratively with engineering and maintenance teams.
- Support the company’s shift to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Shifts & Hours:
- Current: Rotating 8-hour shifts:
- Mon–Fri 6:00–14:00
- Sat OT 6:00–14:00
- 14:00–22:30
- 22:00–06:30
- Future: Potential move to 4 on / 4 off with 12-hour shifts.
Requirements:
- 6–8 years’ experience in a similar CNC Turning/Milling role.
- Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls.
- Ability to diagnose and respond to machine issues quickly.
- Formal machine shop or engineering qualifications (metallic focus preferred).
- Experience with ratios, feed rates, and finish tolerances.
- Comfortable with in-house training processes and adapting to evolving procedures.
- Internal applicants with relevant CNC experience are encouraged.
- Previous work in rail, automotive, or heavy metals industries a plus.
Interview Availability:
Initial interviews will be held Thursday/Friday next week.
