The Depot Facilities Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of depot facilities and infrastructure. The role oversees health and safety, maintenance, utilities, security, cleaning, stock control, and depot improvement projects, ensuring the depot remains operational, compliant, and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage depot buildings, infrastructure, maintenance, and facilities services.
  • Lead health, safety, fire safety, and environmental compliance activities.
  • Maintain risk assessments, emergency plans, COSHH records, and statutory inspections.
  • Oversee utilities, cleaning contracts, depot security, and site access arrangements.
  • Manage depot improvement projects and support capital expenditure planning.
  • Maintain stock control, stores activities, and inventory management processes.
  • Liaise with GTR, contractors, tenants, and operational teams to ensure effective depot operations.
  • Conduct depot inductions, manage contractors and visitors, and support accident investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with railway regulations, Company policies, and safety standards.

General Responsibilities

  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience in facilities, depot, property, engineering, or infrastructure management.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety, contractor management, and facilities maintenance.
  • Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant Health & Safety qualification desirable.
  • Rail, transport, or industrial sector experience desirable.
