This is a key position within a busy and successful operation.
We're looking for someone with strong industry knowledge, leadership qualities, and the confidence to take ownership of day-to-day activities.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and become an integral part of the business's future growth and success.
- Overview
- Support the day-to-day running of a busy Tool & Plant Hire operation
- Manage customer enquiries via phone, email, and face-to-face
- Process hire orders, quotations, and contracts
- Coordinate equipment availability, deliveries, and collections
- Support and supervise depot staff where required
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Resolve customer queries and operational issues
- Assist with planning, scheduling, and resource management
- Support senior management with depot operations
- Take ownership and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
- Previous experience within Tool Hire, Plant Hire, Equipment Hire, or Builders Merchants
- Experience as a Hire Controller, Hire Desk Manager, Depot Manager, Branch Manager, Assistant Manager, or Operations Manager
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
- Commercial awareness and understanding of depot operations
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility
- Hands-on, proactive approach
- Experience supervising staff or managing operational workflows is advantageous
