You'll work alongside experienced Application Engineers, supporting the development, testing and continuous improvement of industry-leading products while gaining exposure to every stage of the engineering process. What you'll be doing:
- Supporting engineers with new product development, testing and validation projects.
- Producing and updating engineering documentation, procedures and technical work instructions.
- Building, assembling and testing fibre optic components and cable assemblies.
- Conducting fibre handling activities including stripping, cleaving, polishing, splicing and inspection.
- Assisting with prototype development and proof-of-concept builds.
- Analysing test results and supporting process improvements.
- Working with manufacturing partners to provide technical support and training.
- Supporting customer qualification trials and helping resolve technical issues.
- Maintaining a well-organised engineering training laboratory.
- Collaborating with engineering and product teams to deliver innovative technical solutions.
What we're looking for:
- A degree in Engineering, Physics, Science or another relevant technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
- An interest in manufacturing, product development or fibre optic technology.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a collaborative engineering team.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
