Are you an experienced CMM Programmer, Senior Inspector or Inspection Team Leader looking to take your career to the pinnacle of motorsport? We're supporting a leading Formula One team in the search for a Mechanical Inspection Team Leader to join their Quality Assurance department. This is a rare opportunity to combine hands-on technical inspection with leadership responsibilities in one of the world's most demanding engineering environments. You'll remain actively involved in advanced metrology and CMM programming while leading and developing a highly skilled inspection team responsible for ensuring every component meets the exacting standards required for Formula One performance.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading the day-to-day activities of the Mechanical Inspection team
- Programming and operating CMMs using PC-DMIS
- Conducting dimensional inspection of precision-machined components
- Interpreting complex engineering drawings and GD&T specifications
- Supporting quality investigations and root cause analysis
- Coordinating inspection priorities to support manufacturing schedules
- Mentoring and developing inspectors within the department
- Driving continuous improvement across inspection processes and reporting
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong background in Mechanical Inspection, Metrology or Quality Inspection
- Hands-on experience programming CMMs using PC-DMIS
- Excellent understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings
- Experience within precision engineering, motorsport, aerospace, automotive or advanced manufacturing environments
- Strong knowledge of machining processes and manufacturing methods
- Previous experience leading, mentoring or coordinating inspection teams
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, IFS or similar
Desirable
- Formula One or Motorsport experience
- PolyWorks experience
- Quality Team Leader or Lead Inspector experience
- Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing knowledge
