The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 £ per year.

We have a great opportunity to join our engineer team in our Selhurst Depot. If you have previous experience and are looking for a new adventure, this role offers all shifts (Early, Late & Nights).

You will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out and coordinating routine maintenance & repairs in line with the grade and current maintenance plan requirements as directed by your Production Leader.
  • Vehicle preparation.
  • Fabrication & Assembly.
  • Quality control.
  • Complying with safety systems and procedures at all times.
  • Updating maintenance records within company systems.
  • Carrying out non-maintenance related activities (e.g. Crane, Forklift etc.) as directed by your Production Leader and where competent to do so.
  • Carrying out all other duties where trained and competent to do so.

What we want from you:

  • Must be able to achieve ASE2 vehicle builder competency.
  • A minimum of two and a half years of relevant engineering experience inclusive of training.
  • Reasonable understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles including interpreting technical drawings and plans.
  • Be able to meet the requirements of a job specific medical.
  • Able to meet the competency requirements for safety and task specific training.
  • Familiar with (or able, with training, to become familiar with) rolling stock maintained or repaired by GTR.
  • Be willing to learn new skills appropriate to the role.
  • Proficiency in carpentry, joinery and metalwork.
  • Positive and professional attitude with good working relationships.
