At Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR), we are seeking a visionary Director of Strategic Timetable Development to lead the evolution of our train plan and drive operational excellence across our network. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the strategic development of GTR's timetable—ensuring alignment with national rail priorities, meeting customer expectations, and supporting our corporate goals. You will lead cross-functional collaboration, influence industry-wide change, and deliver sustainable improvements that enhance the passenger experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a long-term strategic timetable plan that drives operational efficiency and service excellence.
- Lead cross-industry collaboration with Network Rail, the Department for Transport, and other key stakeholders.
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement across timetable planning, traincrew, and rolling stock deployment.
- Build and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and growth.
- Ensure compliance with industry agreements and contractual obligations, including the National Rail Contract.
- Drive financial performance through efficient, customer-focused timetable proposals.
- Support special event planning and rail replacement strategies with precision and foresight.
