We are currently recruiting in our Infrastructure Team for a Project Manager. The role involves reporting to the Senior Project Manager within the Fleet Infrastructure Team, and the post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all Projects over the entire estate are undertaken in line with the current operational requirements and guidelines. They will ensure that the processes used are robust and aligned to the requirements of Railway Group Standards, effectively executed to deliver minimum disruption to the operation of the depots.

The postholder will create a robust delivery programme, cost plan, and risk register that will be monitored periodically. They will ensure that the works are executed safely and to a high-quality standard through on-site management of the local stakeholders and contractors.

If you have the following experience and are looking for a challenge:

  • PTS Trained
  • Sound knowledge of railway operating and safety standards, rules, and instructions
  • Knowledge of planning and depot operations
  • Minimum of 5 years management experience, preferably in a depot operational environment and with managing people
  • A current qualification in Project Management
  • An engineering background would be desirable
  • The candidate is Chartered or working towards attaining a Chartership
  • In-depth knowledge of the GTR Network
  • Excellent communication skills, including both verbal and written
  • Strong team leader and motivator
  • Ability to proactively identify opportunities for and to lead continuous improvement
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to develop action plans and implement contingency plans
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office and enterprise systems
  • Capable of achieving competence requirements of this role
