We are looking for a ERTMS Integration Manager who will focus on implementing the integration strategy created by the ERTMS team to ensure timely delivery of digital signalling schemes on behalf of GTR. You will create lasting, positive change for the industry, constantly leading from the front nationally in the deployment of digital signalling.
What You'll Do
- Managing stakeholder relationships across a potentially diverse set of stakeholders from design engineers and project managers, through to sponsors, civil servants and operators. You will be able to adapt your communication approach to suit the specific needs of the stakeholder.
- Looking after ERTMS testing activities and making sure assurance requirements are met.
- Maintaining close relationships with the Engineering department to ensure the safe and timely introduction of ERTMS technology on GTR fleets.
- Cross industry collaboration β briefing and assisting other stakeholders with ERTMS knowledge.
- Being proficient in the application of:
- Migration state definition and planning
- Definition of benefits and stakeholder goals
- Requirements and interface management
- Development and use of system architectures
- Development of integrated schedules and plans
- Management of System Integration Risk, Assumptions, Dependencies, Issues and Opportunities

What You'll Bring
- Experience in applying Systems engineering and Integration on complex projects, including use of tools to aid communicating complex problems simply and robustly.
- Ability to work day and night to cover testing requirements.
- Railway experience and understanding. You will have the understanding to consider the railway as the system of interest and conduct holistic industry benefits focused problem solving.
- Strong balance of ERTMS technical and operational knowledge.
- A degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Desirable).
Skills
- Strong communication skills. Communication will be required between senior managers within each industry organisation as well as various railway system subject matter experts within project delivery teams.
- Solid grounding in the railway as a system, including sub-systems and the interfaces between sub-systems and the technical issues associated with each (e.g. track systems, signalling systems, Rolling stock etc.).
- The ability to navigate complex industry processes.
- Optimisation and planning skills to deliver complicated projects.
- Understanding of the railway organisation structure, including organisational interfaces and commercial arrangements.
- The ability to write reports and summarise complex issues.
- The ability to work ERTMS test trains, including during the night and weekends within a shift pattern.
- The ability to understand signalling scheme plans and other technical documentation.
- The ability to lead a small team to deliver changes to the operational railway.
