Join Goviat Thameslink Railway (GTR) as an Engineering Trainer Assessor and help shape the next generation of rail engineers by delivering industry‑leading training and assessment across our Fleet Engineering teams. As an Engineering Trainer Assessor, you will use your expertise in Traction & Rolling Stock (T&RS) to support, train, and develop our engineering teams — ensuring they have the skills, confidence, and competence to keep our trains safe, reliable, and efficient.

What you'll be doing:

  • Deliver high‑quality technical and safety training to Fleet maintenance staff
  • Support competence assessments and ensure engineering standards are met
  • Develop and update training materials within agreed timescales
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects and fleet modifications
  • Help enhance technical capability, reducing failures and improving reliability

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience working with Traction & Rolling Stock
  • Strong fault‑finding and technical problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent understanding of rail safety and maintenance practices
  • Great communication and organisational skills
  • Confident using IT (Microsoft Word, Excel, and analytical tools)
  • Trainer Techniques (C&G 7331) or A1 Assessor qualification — or willingness to achieve these within 6–12 months
