An exciting opportunity has arisen to support the Head of Operational Training TLGN based in our Bedford Depot. You will have the opportunity to provide strategic direction and lead the Driver Instructor (DI) teams in the effective development & delivery of all DI learning activities.
Responsibilities
- You will be delivering operational training, assessing and providing support for Govia Thameslink Railway.
- Develop training materials and processes to ensure industry best practice is implemented for all DI grades.
- Work closely with Operational Standards teams and industry partners to provide solutions that meet the needs of the business whilst complying with safety standards.
- This post will predominantly cover Driver Instructor recruitment/training/assessing, but will carry out training for other operational safety critical grades within the scope of the individual's competency.
- Plan and implement procedures to ensure that Driver Instructors are trained and assessed as competent in defined operational duties.
- Ensure training programs, development workshops and competency assessments are relevant to work performed and are carried out in required timescales.
- Ensure training and competency records for DIs are maintained and are in date.
- Develop and implement company specific systems and standards for DI training and ongoing assessment cycles.
