We are recruiting Service Engineers to join our Fleet team at Stewards Lane, Battersea. This role is suitable for individuals who are beginning a career in engineering as well as those with existing Mechanical or Electrical experience who are looking to develop further. The position offers a practical working environment where you will gain experience on one of the largest and most complex train fleets in the UK. At GTR, training and professional development are a core part of our approach. You will receive ongoing support to build your competencies and expand your technical knowledge. Our Fleet Engineers play an important part in maintaining safe, reliable train services for our passengers.

Key responsibilities
- Completing repairs and routine maintenance work to set specifications
- Carrying out fault-finding activities on rolling stock units
- Performing component changes and heavy lifts when required
- Conducting mechanical, electrical, or vehicle-building repair tasks
- Working effectively as part of a multi-skilled engineering team
What we're looking for?
- Have transferable practical experience (mechanical, electrical, automotive, aerospace, military, or similar)
- Be physically fit and able to meet the Engineering medical standard
- Be able to complete DP Track and PTS training unless exempt
- Be willing to work collaboratively in a structured engineering environment
- Have an interest in practical, hands-on work and maintaining high standards
