Stoneacre Motor Group is looking for an apprentice to work full‑time in a garage workshop based in Wrexham. The role offers a Level 2 Autocare Technician Apprenticeship with progression to Level 3 motor vehicle technician standard, within a partnership with BYD to provide hands‑on experience with electric vehicle (EV) technology.
Typical Day
- You will be based within the garage workshop, learning all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, including servicing, MOT preparation, removal, replacement and overhaul of major components and electrical fault diagnostics.
Units Covered
- Materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices used in the automotive environment
- Inspection of light vehicles
- Diagnosing and rectifying chassis units and components
- Diagnosing and rectifying vehicle engines and component faults
- Supporting the maintenance and repair of electric and hybrid vehicles
- Learning how to carry out vehicle inspections and servicing
- Assisting with diagnostics and fault finding
- Working with experienced technicians in a modern workshop environment
- Following safe working practices, especially around EV systems
- Contributing to workplace good housekeeping
- Ensuring your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
Hours
Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm (40 hours)
