What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Train to repair vehicle damage to an exacting standard.
  • Work within a vehicle repair team with a dedicated mentor.
  • Gain exposure to a range of vehicles and repair methods.
  • Be based in the paint shop and learn all aspects of preparing surfaces, masking, priming, painting, buffing and polishing to a suitable finish.
  • Training & Qualification
  • Training delivered through GTG to obtain an SCQF Level 6 in Vehicle Paintwork Repair.
  • Regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken at the workplace and at GTG Training to ensure required skills are achieved.
  • Completion of the apprenticeship awards the SCQF Level 6 qualification.

Works across the UK with 65 equipped centres, including mobile repair, glass repair and replacement solutions.

  • Strong communication, IT, attention to detail, organisation and customer care skills.
  • Problem‑solving, numerical, logical, team working, initiative, and a thirst for knowledge.
  • Reliability, integrity and dedication to the role.

Qualifications

  • Must have or expect to gain National 4 or above in English, Maths, and either a Science or Technical subject.
  • Essentially literate, numerate, reliable and eager to learn.

  • Working week: Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
  • Total hours per week: 40.
  • Expected apprenticeship duration: 36 months.
