What will the apprentice be doing?
In this role, you will be trained to repair vehicle damage to an exacting standard. You will be working within a wider vehicle repair team and have a dedicated mentor assigned to you. You will have exposure to a range of vehicles and repair methods. You will be based in the Accident Repair Centre and will be involved in learning all aspects of repairing accident-damaged vehicles, including chassis alignment techniques, panel repair and replacement, welding and preparing vehicles for painting.
- Assess a vehicle to establish the extent of damage
- Decide whether to repair or replace bodywork based on the initial assessment
- Remove damaged panels
- Strip and refit trim and interior paneling
- Refit new or repaired panels
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will train through GTG to SCQF Level 6 in Vehicle Body Repair. Regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace and at GTG Training, which aims to ensure you have the required skills to successfully complete your apprenticeship.

Qualifications
You must have or expect to gain National 4 or above in English, Maths, and either a Science or a Technical subject. It is essential that you are literate, numerate, reliable, and keen to learn.

- Working week: Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm
- Total hours per week: 40
- Expected apprenticeship duration: 36 months
