GTG Training is recruiting for an Apprentice Autocare Technician on behalf of an independent garage in Bolton. This role offers full‑time apprenticeship with training and hands‑on experience in a workshop setting.

Hours and Compensation

- 40 hours per week Monday to Friday

Training Programme
The Modern Apprenticeship Programme allows apprentices to work full time and learn, putting theory into practice. Training is delivered through GTG Wolverhampton block‑release weeks to Level 2 Autocare Technician or Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician. Regular assessment and reviews are conducted both at the training centre and within the apprentice’s own workplace, with mentors from GTG and the workplace supporting skill development.
Typical Day
You will be based in the workshop and involved in learning all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, including vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, removal, replacement and overhaul of major components, and electrical fault diagnostics.
Units Covered
- Materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices used in the automotive environment
- Inspection of light vehicles
- Diagnosing and rectifying chassis units and components
- Diagnosing and rectifying vehicle engines and component faults
- Ensuring your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
- Contributing to workplace good housekeeping
Qualifications
GCSE level or above in Maths, English and a Science or Technical subject or equivalent.
