GTG Training is recruiting an Apprentice Mechanic for an independent garage located in Stenhousemuir. This role offers the opportunity to work full time, earn while you learn, and gain an SCQF Level 7 automotive qualification.

Typical Day
You will be based within the garage workshop and will be involved in learning all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, including vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, removal, replacement and overhaul of major components and electrical fault diagnostics.
Units Covered
- Materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices used in the automotive environment
- Inspection of light vehicles
- Diagnosing and rectifying chassis units and components
- Diagnosing and rectifying vehicle engines and component faults
- Ensuring your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
- Contributing to workplace good housekeeping
Learning and Assessment
Regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's workplace, with dedicated mentors from GTG and the workplace. Through the 3‑year apprenticeship, candidates will train to SCQF Level 7 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
Qualifications
You must have or expect to gain National 4 or above in English, Maths, and either a Science or Technical Subject.
