Help us make a difference as HGV Technician Apprentice at our Biffa workshop. Due to continued growth, Biffa is looking for HGV technicians to join our expanding team. As an HGV Technician at Biffa Waste Services, you will be part of the team maintaining our fleet of modern waste collection LGV/HGV vehicles in our workshops. The role involves training you to provide maintenance and repairs for waste collection vehicles and equipment, including various makes, models, and types, from car-derived vans to artic units and trailers.
You will learn how to:
- Service and repair vehicle chassis and cabs to VOSA requirements, as well as MOT preparation and presentation
- Maintain and repair waste handling equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Diagnose and rectify vehicle faults
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, both electronically and on paper
- Support H&S issues to maintain the OHSAS18001 standard already achieved
Effective verbal and written communication skills, coupled with strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities are essential.
