About the role:
GTG Training are recruiting for an Apprentice Parts Technician on behalf of Allied Vehicles. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are ready to advance their career within the automotive industry. The Modern Apprenticeship Programmes allow apprentices to work full time and earn while they learn putting theory into practice within a training environment. Regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace which aims to ensure they have the required skills to successfully complete their apprenticeship.
What Might a Typical Day in this Job look like?
You will be based within the garage workshop and will be involved in learning all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, including vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, removal, replacement and overhaul of major components and electrical fault diagnostics. This programme covers the following areas:
- Receiving and dispatching parts
- Dealing with customer enquiries
- Sourcing parts for customers and technical staff
You will be based within a parts department, involved in giving customer advice, ordering required parts, components or accessories and updating computer systems.
What will I learn?
Basic motor vehicle technology will be a part of the course as well as telephone and sales techniques. Regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace which aims to ensure they have the required skills to successfully complete their apprenticeship.
What qualifications or qualities are required?
You must have or expect to gain National 4 or above in English, Maths, and an Admin or Computer Studies subject is preferred but not essential.
What personal qualities are required?
We are looking for candidates who want to kickstart their career in the automotive industry and who are keen to learn. You must be dedicated and have a proactive approach to your work and learning. You are able to prioritise and work to timelines. A willingness to work in a practical environment using your own initiative. A full UK Driving licence preferred but not essential.
