GTG Training is recruiting for an Apprentice Paint Technician for an independent garage.
This is a fantastic opportunity for those ready to advance their career within the automotive industry.
The Modern Apprenticeship Programme allows apprentices to work full time and earn while they learn, putting theory into practice within a training environment.
In addition to attending training at the centre for week block releases, regular assessment and reviews are undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace to ensure they develop the skills required to successfully complete the apprenticeship.
Typical Day
The Vehicle Paintwork Repair apprenticeship provides prospective paintwork technicians with the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out the role of a modern vehicle paint technician.
- Units Covered
- Contributing to housekeeping
- Reducing risks to health and safety
- Maintaining working relationships
- Preparing metal and pre‑painted surfaces
- Establishing defects on motor vehicles
- Spot repair on motor vehicles
- Carrying out blend/fade out repair
- Edge to edge repair
- Mixing and matching colours for motor vehicles
- Advanced colour matching for motor vehicles
- What You’ll Learn
You will train through GTG to SCQF Level 6 in Vehicle Refinishing.
Regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace to ensure they have the required skills to successfully complete the apprenticeship.
Qualifications
You must have or expect to gain National 4 or above in English, Maths, and either a Science or Technical Subject.
