GP Practice Administrator – City Health Centre
gtd healthcare is one of the largest, not-for-profit, NHS-commissioned primary and urgent care providers in North West England. An excellent opportunity for a GP Practice Administrator has arisen at our City Health Centre in Manchester City Centre.
The practice serves approximately 15,500 patients and operates the Manchester Urgent Primary Care Hub, which provides urgent treatment for all patients in Manchester.
The successful candidate will be friendly, confident, resilient, flexible, and possess well-developed teamwork, communication, organisational, and customer service skills. Experience working in a GP Practice and familiarity with Emis Web & Docman would be desirable but not essential.

Main duties of the job
- Thorough knowledge of practice procedures and protocols, with the ability to access and adhere to them at all times.
- Provide efficient word processing services for GPs and health professionals, including patient referrals, letters, reports, and minutes, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Support data management with chronic disease recalls, patient registers, and administration related to cytology and immunisations.
- Manage patient referrals with robust follow-up and adherence to protocols.
- Summarise patient notes following training.
- Handle incoming and outgoing telephone calls for timely communication, messages, and queries.
- Retrieve medical records and assist with medical/insurance record requests.
- Perform administrative tasks as directed by the practice manager.
- Arrange and attend meetings, taking minutes as required.
- Ensure compliance with Data Protection Act requirements.
- Assist in gathering statistics and information when needed.
