gtd healthcare is one of the largest NHS commissioned Primary and Urgent care providers in North West England. Our People Services (HR) Team has grown year on year, and in order to continue providing an excellent people service to our business, we are looking to recruit a People Advisor. This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join us in continuing to strengthen our people services function whilst allowing the successful candidate to make the role their own. The People Advisor will report into the Senior People Business Partner and will be responsible for providing excellent generalist people advice to their designated business areas, whilst working on business-wide projects and initiatives. It is essential for the successful candidate to be CIPD qualified, and to possess a good standard of written and oral communication skills, including GCSE English qualifications. It is also required that applicants will have a driving license to support travel to various sites. Main duties of the job:

  • Provide expert advice and guidance to employees and line managers on diverse HR matters, ensuring full alignment with company policy, procedures, and best practice.
  • Act as the first point of contact for all employee relations, managing disciplinary, grievance, and performance processes from start to finish, ensuring adherence to company policy, best practice, and ensuring equitable outcomes.
  • Partner with managers to navigate high volume and complex sickness absence cases, ensuring compliance with the Equality Act and facilitating Occupational Health referrals as required.
  • Lead on consultations, contractual variations, and redundancy procedures in line with employment legislation during service restructures and TUPE transfers.
  • Proactively review and refine HR policies to reflect current employment law, case law developments, and evolving business needs.
  • Analyse exit interview trends and attrition metrics to develop proactive retention initiatives in collaboration with the People Operations team.
  • Ensure rigorous GDPR compliance across all employee data processing and oversee the centralised recording of compliance and health records.
  • Oversee the end-to-end management of maternity, paternity, and adoption cases, ensuring seamless coordination between employees, managers, and payroll.

Job responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice and guidance to employees and line managers on diverse HR matters, ensuring full alignment with company policy, procedures, and best practice.
  • Act as the first point of contact for all employee relations, managing disciplinary, grievance, and performance processes from start to finish, ensuring adherence to company policy, best practice, and ensuring equitable outcomes.
  • Maintain a dotted reporting line to the Senior People Advisor for the escalation of complex ER cases and payroll queries.
  • Partner with managers to navigate high volume and complex sickness absence cases, ensuring compliance with the Equality Act and facilitating Occupational Health referrals as required.
  • Lead on consultations, contractual variations, and redundancy procedures in line with employment legislation during service restructures and TUPE transfers.
  • Proactively review and refine HR policies to reflect current employment law, case law developments, and evolving business needs.
  • Analyse exit interview trends and attrition metrics to develop proactive retention initiatives in collaboration with the People Operations team.
  • Demonstrate strong technical proficiency as a Super User across all internal platforms, maintaining complete confidence and expertise in iTrent, Rotamaster, and payroll systems, alongside the efficient management of Outlook and digital personnel records.
  • Support the Senior People Advisor with the management of the monthly payroll and provide supervisory support for the People Administrators as required.
  • Ensure rigorous GDPR compliance across all employee data processing and oversee the centralised recording of compliance and health records.
  • Produce high-level KPI reporting and management data to inform strategic decision-making and monthly management reviews.
  • Oversee the end-to-end management of maternity, paternity, and adoption cases, ensuring seamless coordination between employees, managers, and payroll.
  • Design and deliver impactful training sessions to build management capability in line with organisational needs.
  • Provide cross-functional support to the Recruitment Team, participating in interviews and selection processes to ensure high-quality hires.
  • Promote a culture of Equality and Diversity, leading on wellbeing projects and engagement initiatives that enhance the employee experience.
  • Support the Head of People Services on strategic projects and initiatives, ensuring people records and systems remain robust and accurate.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to professional development, keeping abreast of legislative changes and undertaking any other reasonable tasks to support the department's goals.

  • Any other duties, as agreed with the line manager to meet the needs of the organisation. This may include travel to other sites within the organisation.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 c grade GCSEs including Maths and English or equivalent.
  • CIPD qualification or similar.
  • Driving Licence.
  • A levels or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Working with HR systems i.e. Rotamaster.
  • Experience of generating reports for use by senior management teams.
  • Confident advising on HR policies and processes.
  • Management of employee relations cases from start to finish.
  • Managing difficult conversations and conflict resolution.
  • Understanding of payroll processes and timeframes.
  • Understanding of employee contracts and requirements.
  • Supporting organisational change processes such as TUPE, restructure and redundancy.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

  • Highly organised, able to prioritise a demanding workload and conflicting deadlines, remaining efficient under pressure and flexible to unexpected demands.
