GTC, part of the BUUK Infrastructure Group, are looking for an Asset Adoption Design Engineer who would like to help us reach our mission to “earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service”.
Purpose of this role
Provide technical design authorisation & technical support for the management of multi-utility design submissions for the Asset Adoption team & its adoption partners.
Responsibilities
- Validating and authorising, for construction, multi-utility design submissions to be built out by adoption partners on new build developments.
- Providing technical support to adoption partners on all aspects of design & the design process.
- Supporting the administration & accurate recording of design submissions through the design team.
- Supporting the managing of adoption partner relationships to ensure long term loyalty of customers.
- Review, analyse & authorise multi-utility designs submitted by adoption partners in at least two utility disciplines.
- Liaise with adoption partners on all aspects of design & design processes.
- Undertake Technical and Safety Audits as determined by business need.
- Liaise with other departments to progress approved networks in the design process.
- Project managing utility infrastructure risks with adoption partner relationships.
- Implement and develop processes to internally communicate any technical and maintenance requirements for accepted projects.
- Issue data and reports in line with current business requirements.
- Manage & develop self & teams skill sets.
- Maintain and improve consistent accuracy of data asset records.
Qualifications
- Engineering Technician with recognised engineering institute.
Experience / Knowledge
- Working knowledge of current Legislation & Technical Standards in two utility disciplines.
- Experience in managing staff.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar drawing tools.
Abilities / Skills
- Excellent customer service skills for both internal & external customers.
- Ability to multi-task and take responsibility for own workload.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programmes or equivalent.
Desirable
- City & Guilds Power Engineering Level 2.
- CSCS Card or SHEA Passport.
- Familiar with relevant health & safety legislation & matters relating to design, planning & recording of utility networks.
- Familiar with utility modelling programs.
- Ability to explain technical specifications to non-technical customers.
