Purpose of this role
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for identifying and targeting New Business Sales opportunities within the Multi Utility market whilst delivering a strong conversion success rate, always providing first‑class Customer Service and Account Management. Ensure that GTC are the preferred customer choice. Supporting the Head of Sales, responsibilities will include presenting Sales proposals at Director level, Market & Competitor knowledge, Sales Performance Reporting, Customer Feedback and Customer Education/Workshops.
Your Key Responsibilities Are
- Provide first‑class Customer Service and Account Management to existing customer portfolio.
- Promote GTC & Express with new potential customers and markets.
- Drive the Sales function, leading by example to create a customer focused, positive and effective working environment with a collective common goal.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels and be readily contactable in normal working hours.
- Strong Internal Stakeholder management to ensure that the business has all relevant and correct project information to produce quality and accurate competitive quotations.
- Build good relationships with DNO’s (SSE, SPEN, SGN, Scottish Water & BT) to ensure working collaboratively is seamless and smooth.
- Represent BUUK by attending Government, Industry & Market events, to ensure knowledge and awareness in all areas is correct and up to date.
- Track and Report Sales performance to Head of Sales, including trends and risk analysis, with detailed micro‑management and tracking of key projects.
Experience/Knowledge
- Vast Experience in Business Development and Account Management.
- Knowledge of current legislation, technical standards & specifications, codes of practise and recommendations relating to utility design, and be aware of the implications to the safe asset operation of the prescribed standards.
- Any other duties as required by the manager.
Abilities/Skills
- Must be able to understand customer’s needs and have customer focus to deliver consistently high‑quality customer service.
- Must have a high standard of written and verbal communication.
- Competent in the use of all standard Microsoft Office applications and have knowledge of Geographical Mapping Systems.
Desirable
- Utility Industry experience.
