Purpose of this role
To safely install Gas / Water / Electricity / Fibre mains/ducts and services to relevant standards. Responsible for work within area of competence.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Work safely at all times wearing relevant PPE that is supplied.
- Install and commission gas, water, electricity and fibre mains/ducts & services as instructed, ensuring that all work is undertaken to a high standard of safety and technical quality by following appropriate generic and specific method statements, work procedures and safety instructions.
- Accept delivery of plant and materials and check fitness for purpose prior to use.
- Ensure vehicles, plant and equipment remain in good condition, and report any defects to the support team / line manager.
- Complete point of work risk assessments on a daily basis and amend when necessary, throughout the working day to ensure a safe working environment.
- Liaise with site managers, groundworkers, GTC management team, Scheduling team, Network Controller/Authoring Engineer when necessary.
- Act as a Competent Person (if assessed as competent).
- Identify and report any safety concerns, changes to design in accordance with the company Variations and Deviations Procedure, non-conformances and site materials to the Multi-Utility Project Manager.
- Ensure stock levels are maintained in Safe Storage units by booking out materials on Materials APP.
- Attend ‘tool‑box Talks And Other Training Courses As Required.
- Record accurately details of work undertaken.
- Submit relevant work details for recording and invoicing in the relevant time scale.
- Support, coach and mentor new team members as appropriate.

- Accurately record timesheets and bonus submissions in line with company policies.
- Any other duties as deemed appropriate by the manager that fall within the general experience scope of the individual.
Qualifications
- NCO2 Gas Mains/Services; NCO2 Water Mains/Services.
- EUSR/SHEA Registration.
- SCO trained.
- NWH Hygiene card.
- LV Authorisation for Mains & Service Joints.
Experience / Knowledge
- Knowledge of Gas, Water, Electricity and Fibre Networks.
- Identify and understand utility plans.
Abilities / Skills
- Competent IT user.
Desirable
- City & Guilds or equivalent experience or qualification.
- Working practical knowledge of the construction requirements for gas, electricity, water, and fibre distribution networks.
- Working on development sites.
- NPORS or equivalent Operator card for plant.
Conditions of Employment
You will hold a driving licence.
